Jacob von Sandrart (1630 - 1708)

Engraver, publisher and painter. Pupil of C. Danckerts und W. Hondius. Lived since 1656 in Nuremberg, there he was one of the most popular artists - esp. as portraitist - of his time. 1662 he founded an academy of arts in Nuremberg.
