Nicolas Sanson (1600 – 1667), also called Sanson d'Abbéville.

Royal geographer and publisher in Paris. Founder of the French school of geography. His sons Guillaume (? - 1703) and Arian (? - 1708) succeeded Nicolas, later on his grandson Pierre Moullart-Sanson (? - 1730) in co-operation with H. Jaillot.
