Jan van Huchtenburgh (1647 – 1733)

Dutch painter, graphic artist and copper engraver, publisher and art dealer. 1708/09 he accompanied the Austrian general Prince Eugene of Savoy-Carignan (1663-1736) on his campaigns. He painted and engraved all important battles of the Prince. His pictures remind us of the style of Philips Wouwerman (1619-1668), after whose paintings he also made etchings.
