Alain (Allain) Manesson-Mallet (1630-1706) was a french cartographer and engineer. He wrote and illustrated a large history of the world in five volumes, „Des Herrn Allain Manesson Mallets Beschreibung des gantzen Welt-Kreises“, here the fifth volume.

This volume contains reports of Europe with Great Britain, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and the Netherlands, followed by the history of  North, Central, and South America, Antarctica and Oceania. Every report is illustrated with engravings, portraits, costumes, city views, plans and various maps.

Contemporary embossed calfskin cover, 4°, 417 pages with 147 copper engravings. Published by Johann Adam Jung in Frankfurt, 1719.

Excellent impression and binding, some minor stains and rubbing on the pages, altogether in very good condition.
