Beautiful map after Ptolemy, divided in 17 cross- and 9 lengthwise squares. Depicted is Central- to Southeast Europe with the whole river course of the Danube with its tributaries up to the Dead Sea. The North Sea up to the Mediterranean Sea with parts of Dalmatia, Hungary, Poland and the Ukraine. In the South, Balkans with Romania, Bulgaria and Greece. In the East the Dead Sea with Byzantium.

Beatiful nuanced print, imprint of the copper plate still visible, some tears at the centre fold and minor paper loss due to old age, This rare and extraordinary Ptolemaic map from 1482 in very good condition.
