Heliocentric Solar system
Title: „Systema Solare et Planetarium ex hypothesi Copernicus secundum elegantissimas Illustristrissi quandam Hugenij…“
In the centre the depiction of the heliocentric solar system after Nicolaus Copernicus (1473 – 1543). The pictured solar explosion contains descriptions of the Dutch astronomer Christiaan Huygens (1629 – 1695). The twelve zodiac signs representing the rest of the universe, at the upper left the known solar system, at the upper right a diagram of the solar system, at the bottom left the solar eclipse of May 12th 1706 and at the bottom right the Muse of Astronomy Urania.
Oiginal coloured copperengraving on a double page by Johann Baptist Homann (1664-1724) and Johann Gabriel Doppelmayr (1677-1750) from „ Atlas Novus Coelestis“ published by Homann Heirs, Nuremberg 1742.

Beautiful print and colours, small stain at the margin, minor paperloss at the upper middle part, altogether in very good condition.
