Empire-style folding fan
Beautiful folding fan with coloured copper engravings on both sides.
Front: A young couple is overheard by Eros, who is hiding behind a willow. Painted golden bordures framing the scene.
Back: A vignette with two Ladies holding a conversation, at the sides painted roses and leafs.
The leaf is made of paper (front) and very fine vellum (canepin) (back) with coloured copper engravings on both sides. The fan´s skeleton made of carved ivory with a golden rivet.
Span width: 21 cm x 40 cm
