Magnificent, medieval Benedictine manuscript from Spain

Magnificent, medieval Benedictine manuscript from Spain. Double vellum leaf with a full-page painting of a saint (?) wearing the garments of the Benedictine order in front of an altar. Framed by various floral bordures, text with square notation on five-line red staves. A large Initial „E“ (22 x 20 cm) in the colours yellow, red and blue, next to it a small illustration of Benedict of Nursia.

Verso. Index: „De Capistrano, Credo Parisiense, Credo de la Aurora, Credo Paduano, Credo de la Rosa. Antiphoar de Benedictus de tas Dominicas, y ferias de Quaresina.“

Very fine, colourful manuscript of the Benedictine order. Minor colour abrasions, altogether in very good condition. Rare!
