Famous world map with two hemispheres after a design by Jodocus Hondius (1563-1612). Here with the travel route of the circumnavigation of Sir Francis Drake (1577-1580) and Thomas Cavendish (1555-1592). A portrait of Sir Drake and his galleon Golden Hind in the upper and lower middle part of the map.

Decorative copper engraving with original colours by Theodor de Bry (1561-1623) from „Americae pars VIII. Continens primo…". Title in Latin, world map with the travel routes of Sir F. Drake, Frankfurt 1599.

Beautiful print and colours, partly gilded, some small wormholes, altogether in very good condition.
