Japan - Shunga painting
Nude lovers, next to them a kimono with a noshi decor. The young man with a typical Wakashû hairstyle, the woman with a headdress in the style of the 17th or 18th century.
Very fine painting in the ukiyo-e style of the Tosa province, with tender outlines and fine details skilfully painted on paper with ink, mineral colours, gofun and some gold. Little remains of an old mounting, some creases and folds due to its age, some smaller paper damages, a neatly restored tear, otherwise good condition.
