Tsukioka Yoshitoshi (1839-1892)

The young hero Minamoto no Yoshitsune in his legendary night duel against the strong warrior monk Musashibô Benkei at Gojô Bridge in Kyoto. Throwing his fan for distraction, Yoshitsune evades Benkei with an acrobatic jump into the air. The defeated Benkei would go on to become Yoshitsune's most loyal retainer.

Very good impression and excellent colours, with relief and lustre printing. Full margins, not backed. Paper minimally age-toned, a tiny bit creased at corners, a very small tear in bottom margin. In verso a light brown spot and two colour printer’s colur smudges. Overall very good condition.
