Very good impression, very fresh colours. A few small wormholes, paper at corners a little bit thinner, otherwise perfect, clean condition.
A very rare and vivid depiction of a warrior by Shunei !
Fig. Tokyo National Museum Catalogue I, No 1255 (there with the seal of the publisher Nishimura Eijudô, but without the poem - about the poem and the history of the warrior see King / Iwakiri, Japanese Warrior Prints 1646-1905), Leiden, 2007, pp 126).
Abe no Sadatô and his opponent in this fight from 1062, Minamoto no Yoshiie, iconographically mostly belong together. The additional print with Minamoto Yoshiie is extremely rare, there is only one black print (without title and publisher) known in the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Spaulding (ex Fenollosa) Collection No 21.6027.
