Totoya Hokkei (1780-1850)
A young lady of the Genroku era (1688-1704), sitting next to a box with playing cards with poems. A design after a painting by Moronobu, with a poem by Ganjôtei Shirataka.

Date: Originally c. 1828, here a Meiji-period version c. 1890s
Size: Shikishiban, 21,8 x 18 cm
Very good impression and colour. Paper minimally age toned, else very nice condition. This version untitled and without the plum blossoms surrounding the image.
