Takahashi Shôtei (Hiroaki) (1871-1945)

Two Komusô, Zen Buddhist mendicant monks with their typical basket hats and shakuhachi flutes, approaching a red shrine gate in heavy snowfall, next to which an tavern sign promises food and drink. The title identifies the place as Okabe, one of the stations on the Tôkaidô highway.
