A tiger resting in low bamboo. The tiger, one of the twelve zodiac animals, symbolises (male) strength and a long life.

Original Japanese colour woodblock print. Size: Shikishiban, 23.6 x 25 cm

Excellent impression and colours. Unbacked. Creases at upper right and lower right margin, short tear at upper right margin. Verso a paper strip affixed at upper left margin, at right a corner crease and a small residue of glue from previous mounting. Overall very good condition. A rarely seen print.
