Utagawa Hiroshige (1797-1858)

A daimyô with his escort procession is fording the river Ôi. In the foreground a sumô wrestler on an open palanquin is carried through the water.

Strong impression, very good to excellent colours. Colour variant with a reddish-brown gradation for the sky top. Unbacked. Three corners clipped. A triangular tear in the water area to the left, expertly restored; else very good and clean condition.
