Utagawa Hiroshige (1797-1858)

The spacious garden of the Akiba shrine in Ukeji in autumn. Trees are reflected in the water, visitors are walking around the area. On the left hand side, sitting on a terrace, a monk is drawing the landscape - supposedly a self-portrait of Hiroshige who in 1856 had become a lay priest.
