Utagawa Hiroshige (1797-1858)

A spring-scene at the Ryogoku-bridge: A lady on the pier is talking to another lady sitting in a boat. The beautiful view, with a hanging branche of a meadow, across the bridge reaches the snow covered summit of Mt Fuji.

Very fine print with brilliant colours and good visible wood grain. Paper a little bit toned due to its age. Slim upper margin. Horizontal centerfold, smoothed and strengthened on the backside(on the edges of the fold). Print with full margins, altogether very fine impression. Verso a red oval seal “Shiba” – seal of the Japanese art and antique dealer M. Shiba, located near the famous Fujiya hotel in Miyanoshita, Hakone since approximately 1900.
